现代人类学教育部重点实验室

       复旦大学现代人类学教育部重点实验室以复旦大学人类群体遗传学和多基因疾病实验室(1997年成立)为基础于2005年12月开始建立,2008年获批为重点实验室。实验室依托复旦大学的生物科学(部重)一级学科和人类生物学及遗传学(部重)两个二级学科,是目前我国唯一从事分子人类学研究的教育部重点实验室。在2010年9月进行的五年一度的教育部重点实验室评估中,重点实验室在全国59个生命科学领域教育部重点实验室中名列前茅,被评为优秀类实验室。2012年被认定为“国家国际科技合作基地”(国合基地)和高等学校学科创新引智计划(111计划)“人类遗传引智基地”。

       实验室按照学科发展方向和国家重大需求,以人群的遗传结构研究及其应用为中心,旨在揭示在人类进化过程中人群间和个体间的体质、生理、病理等差异及其形成机制,为疾病的发生和预防研究提供线索、为解决相关人文科学问题提供方法和工具。在现代人群遗传结构、人类分子进化、体质人类学、古代人类DNA研究、分子流行病学、计算生物学、语言学、民族学和考古学等方向开展多学科交叉研究。

       实验室长期承担着国家重要的科研项目及国际合作项目,在国际上发起或参与了影响巨大的基因地理组计划、泛亚SNP计划、HapMap计划、RECO计划等8项国际高端合作项目,在国内主持和参与了国家重大专项、973计划、863计划、国家自然科学基金重大项目、国家科技支撑重点项目、卫生部公益性行业科研专项等。建立了覆盖全国和东亚大部分地区的现代人群DNA(20万份)和古代遗骸DNA(3000份)资源库及数据库,在人类群体遗传学、医学遗传学、分子流行病学、计算生物学等研究领域达到了国际前沿水平,取得了一系列重要的研究成果。其中包括:东亚人群的遗传结构特征、混合人群的历史起源与基因组学对策、人类若干生理性状的遗传机制(DNA损伤修复能力与肿瘤、心血管生理特征研究)、基因组和药物反应基因的进化(基因组进化的组织驱使假说、倍增基因表达的快速非对称性进化、药物反应基因的进化)。在国际基因地理人类迁徙研究计划中,本实验室是该项目全球十个中心实验室之一(东亚-东南亚中心)。

       实验室现有教授及研究员16人,副教授及副研究员11人,副高级工程师1人,讲师及助理研究员5人,其中包括国家杰出青年2名,千人计划2名,青年千人1名,基金委优秀青年2名,中组部青年拔尖人才1名,教育部新世纪人才2名,形成了以青年骨干为主体、具有很强创新能力的研究团队。团队文理结合,融合了复旦大学人类学、遗传学和历史地理学的三大特色优势学科,整体性强。研究特色体现在两个“结合”:一是生命科学与数理科学、医学科学和人文科学等学科相结合;二是基础研究的发展与应用相结合。在实验室研究平台上,建立了国际领先水平的实验平台,在此基础上产生了一大批国际上有重大影响的研究成果。实验室现已成为国际生物人类学研究的重镇之一,在我国的人类学领域也处于领头地位,是我国生物人类学研究和高层次专业人才培养的最重要的基地。经教育部批准设立了我国首个人类生物学博士点,在人类生物学、遗传学、生物信息学三个方向招收博士和硕士研究生。实验室的研究成果对国家团结、稳定、安全和公共健康都有着重大的意义。

       实验室自成立以来已在Science、Nature、JAMA、JCI、AJHG、PNAS等国际著名专业期刊上连续发表了一系列高质量的论文,Science, Nature, Current Biology等都多次配发专题评论,国际学术界影响巨大。已获得国家自然科学二等奖在内的国家和省部级科技进步奖11个、百篇优秀博士论文3次、提名奖2次、挑战杯最高奖4次,并为国内培养进修教师和客座人员30余人。


 Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Contemporary Anthropology at Fudan University

       The Ministry of Education (MOE) Key Laboratory of Contemporary Anthropology (KLCA) at Fudan University was developed from the Lab of Human Population Genetics and Complex Diseases (est. 1997) in December of 2005 and was approved by the MOE of China in 2008. Based on the Biology discipline and the sub- disciplines of Genetics and Human Biology, MOE-KLCA focuses on the researches of Molecular Anthropology and has been evaluated as the Outstanding MOE Key Laboratory in 2010. In 2012, MOE-KLCA was approved as the ‘National Base of International Science and Technology Cooperation’ and ‘Intelligence Recruitment Base of Human Genetics’ of the 2011 Plan.

       MOE-KLCA is devoted to researches on human population genetics and its applications, aims at the physical, physiological, and pathological variations between individuals/populations and their evolutional history, and provides methods and tools for disease prevention and humanity researches. The inter-disciplinary fields of MOE-KLCA also encompasses genetic structure of human populations, evolution and adaption of the human genome, physical anthropology, ancient DNA of humankind, molecular epidemiology, computational biology, linguistic anthropology, ethnology, archaeological anthropology, etc.

       MOE-KLCA has been supported financially by Chinese governments via Ministry of Science and Technology of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Health of China, etc. Fundings include National Science and Technology Major Project, 973 Project, 863 Project, National Natural Science Foundation of China Major Project, National Science and Technology Support Key Program, etc. Besides, MOE-KLCA is also the member of eight international collaboration projects, including the Genographic Project, the PanAsia SNP project, the HapMap project, the RECO project, and etc. The sample repository of MOE-KLCA includes 200 thousand DNA samples from modern humans and 3 thousand ancient DNAs, which cover human populations in the majority of East Asia and throughout China. MOE-KLCA plays leading roles in human population genetics, medical genetics, molecular epidemiology, and computational biology. Our main findings include: genetic structures of East Asians, origins and genomics of admixed populations, genetic dissection of human physiological phenotypes, pharmagenomics and evolution. MOE-KLCA is one of the ten laboratories of the Genographic Project, covering East Asia and Southeast Asia.

       The faculties of MOE-KLCA include 16 Professors/Investigators, 11 Associate Professors/Associated Investigators, 1 Senior Engineer, 5 Lecturers/Assistant Investigators. Our innovative team is mainly composed of young scholars, some of which have also been supported by the 1000 Plan, the NSFC grant for National Outstanding Young Scholars, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, New Century Excellent Talents in University Program of MOE, etc. This team also joins together the researchers of three ascendent disciplines of anthropology, genetics, and historical geography in Fudan University. Our researches integrate life sciences with mathematics, medicine, and humanity.  We also integrate the basic researches and applied researches. The experimental base of international first class has created many important scientific findings with global impacts. MOE-KLCA is now a key center of biological anthropology in the world and leader of the field in China. Our lab has established a qualified education program for Human Biology. MOE-KLCA is the first MOE-authorized institute to grant the PhD degree of Human Biology. In addition to Human Biology, MOE-KLCA also recruits master and Ph.D. students in Genetics and Bioinformatics.

       The scientific achievements of MOE-KLCA have been world-widely recognized. We published dozens of research papers in high-impact scientific journals, including Science, Nature, JAMA, JCI, AJHG, and PNAS. We also received National Prize of Natural Science and ten other national, ministerial, and provincial awards for science and technology development. These achievements also attribute to our researchers and students, including four winners of the Challenge Cup, three winners and two nominees of Author of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of China. The visiting scholars to MOE-KLCA have added up to more than 30.
