The Institute of Biostatistics at Fudan University was founded with approval by the University in 2007, to promote education and research in the area of Biostatistics. We develop statistical theories and methods to investigate life sciences questions, with particular interests in modeling and analyzing various omics datasets. Current research of the institute focuses on several directions: (1) theoretical and empirical approaches for dissecting complex quantitative genetic variation; (2) theory and methods for constructing genetic maps of complex genomes; (3) methods for analyzing large-scale and complex omics datasets; (4) systems biology of protein interaction and enzyme-substrate interaction networks; (5) computational biology for integration of multiple omics datasets for prediction of gene/protein functions. The institute has also offered PhD training in biostatistics and computational biology.
