The Fudan University
Institute of Neurobiology was founded in 2001. The Institute works towards
exploring the mechanisms of synaptic transmission and modulation, sensory
information processing, learning and memory and neurodegenerative diseases. The current director of the Institute is Professor Xiong-Li Yang, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Institute is currently organized into four units: unit of retina research, unit of pain research, unit of higher brain functions, and unit of neurodegenerative diseases. The faculty consists of 7 professors and 2 associate professors.
